Background: Traffic accidents are major causes of injury, disability, and death, requiring prompt and appropriate first aid. Students have potential as first responders. Attitudes and motivation may influence willingness to provide first aid.
Objective: To examine the relationship between attitude and motivation in providing first aid for traffic accidents among students at Sadewa Health Vocational High School.
Methods: A quantitative cross-sectional study was conducted among 82 students selected through simple random sampling. Data were collected using validated and reliable attitude and motivation questionnaires. Data were analyzed using the Chi-Square test at α=0.05 and the Phi coefficient.
Results: Most respondents were 17 years old (58.5%), female (87.8%), had no experience providing first aid or taking first aid training (53.7%), and were not active in extracurricular activities (85.4%). A total of 54.9% had a negative attitude, while high and low motivation were equally distributed (50.0% each). Chi-Square analysis showed p=0.000 with Phi=0.417, indicating a moderate association.
Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between attitude and motivation regarding first aid for traffic accidents among students at Sadewa Health Vocational High School.
